The commercial license is only for running MiniMax models locally, on your own hardware.

No, and this is a common misunderstanding worth getting right.
MiniMax Music 3 is not released under Apache-2.0. It ships under the MiniMax-Music3 Community License. The Apache-2.0 reference that appears in the license file applies to Qwen3-8B, the base model that Music 3 was fine-tuned from, not to Music 3 itself.
Under the Community License:
- Commercial use is free for companies below 20 million US dollars in aggregate yearly revenue.
- Above that threshold, separate prior written authorization from MiniMax is required. A MiniMax commercial license through Comfy covers this.
