Q. How is it different from the regular ComfyUI?
The main difference is how you access it:
-
ComfyUI Local (including the Desktop app, Manual, and portable setups)
: Install and run on your own devices - Comfy Cloud: Use online with zero-setup hassle
Both versions share the same features, and we’re equally committed to developing both. The only thing is that Comfy Cloud runs on our GPU infrastructure, so you don’t need your own GPU.
Q: Which version of ComfyUI should I choose? Comfy Cloud vs. ComfyUI Local?
A: Comfy Cloud provides a ready-to-use experience in the browser, accessible anywhere without any installation. It’s ideal for a quick, hassle free experience, perfect for beginners or if your device does not meet GPU or system requirements.
If you prefer full control, want to use your own local GPU, models or custom nodes or prefer working offline, go with the ComfyUI Local.
